The Montgomery County Swim Team - Sharks has a history of over 30 years as a youth summer swim team. The Sharks currently competes in the Midstate Summer League Conference with many teams from Taylorville, Springfield area, Petersburg as well as a few other towns surrounding the Springfield area. The goal of the Sharks summer swim team strives to encourage young swimmers to compete while having fun! The kids are taught stroke technique and rules of competitive swimming. There is a large age range of athletes from 5-18 with all skill levels from novice swimmers to state qualifying swimmers. The diversity of the team gives young swimmers great role models and a goal to compete at higher levels of swimming competition, while providing excellent life skills for older children as well as great training. The MCST Sharks has a mission to give constructive learning about swimming while having fun for children of all ages and experience levels.
